Principal
Dr. R. K. Jain, who is the principal of the Institute, is a distinguished Professor of Civil Engineering and an acknowledged teacher. He obtained his M.E.(Civil) degree in Town and Country Planning 1992 from the University of Pune and Ph. D. in Engineering from Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. He has more than 20 years of teaching experience exclusively in engineering College. He has authored three technical books in the field of Civil Engineering and has contributed more than 25 technical papers on various topics at national and international seminars and conferences.
He has made notable contribution in testing and consultancy services in the field of Geotechnical Engineering and Transportation Engineering for more than a decade. He has attended a number of national and international conferences and is a renowned resource person invited by many organizations. He is the Chairman of the Board of Studies (BOS) in Civil Engineering, Member, Faculty of Engineering and Academic Council, University of Pune.
He has organized various workshops for revision and finalization of U.G. and P.G. Syllabi of Civil Engineering as a part of reformation in curriculum of University of Pune. He has been a member of many prestigious professional bodies like MIE, ISTE, ASCE and a member of the Asian Society for Environmental Geotechnology, New Delhi. He is a member of the dtanding Technical Advisory Committee (STAC) of Pune Municipal Corporation. He was invited by PCMC authorities to work on the project "TRAM FOR PMR". He visited Germany along with officials of PCMC amd PMC
Dr.Jain has guided four post graduate students of Goverment College of Engineering, Pune, for their M.E.(CIVIL), Town and Country planning. Presently, he is guiding two candidates for Ph.D. in Transportation Engineering.
He was the Co-Chairman for the International Conference on MRTS ( Metro Transport, Mono Rail, Maglev, Bullet Train) organized by India Infratech-2008.
